The Machine Trust Platform (MTP) serves as foundation for community trust monitoring of AI use in policing
Ottawa/Peel Region – Sept. 9, 2026 – Peel Regional Police and NuEnergy.ai™ announced today that they will co‑create a comprehensive Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance framework for the police service. The collaboration will include policy guidance, an AI use‑case inventory, ongoing MTP‑enabled assessments, officer education platforms, and independent third‑party reviews.
NuEnergy.ai will apply its Machine Trust Platform™ (MTP) and Machine Trust Index™ (MTI), supported by independent advisory services, to strengthen AI governance, transparency, and trust within Peel Regional Police. The engagement follows NuEnergy.ai’s public presentation to the Peel Police Services Board and the Board’s motion to proceed at its meeting in June 2026.
The governance framework will define the categories of AI trust that Peel Regional Police will use to measure, monitor, and improve the AI systems it deploys across operations.
This initiative builds on the Peel Police Services Board’s April 2026 report on community consultations regarding artificial intelligence in policing. The report captured community perspectives across three key themes: human rights and AI in policing; predictive policing and machine learning; and privacy, data protection, and governance.
